These Terms govern your use of komdeme.com (the "Platform") whether you're ordering food as a customer, operating a kitchen as a vendor partner, or working as a delivery rider. By creating an account or placing an order you agree to these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
1. Who can use Komdeme
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must provide accurate contact information.
- You may not use the Platform if you have previously had an account terminated for fraud, abuse, or repeated violations.
2. What Komdeme does (and doesn't) do
Komdeme is a marketplace. We connect three groups of users:
- Customers who place food orders.
- Restaurants (vendors) who prepare and supply the food.
- Couriers — either Komdeme's in-house freelance riders, or partner courier networks (Uber, Bolt, Yango) — who deliver the food.
We do not prepare the food ourselves, and except for our in-house riders we do not employ the delivery drivers. Where the order is fulfilled by a partner courier (Uber, Bolt, Yango) the courier's terms also apply to the delivery leg.
3. Account verification (Ghana Card)
To protect customers and prevent fraud, vendors and riders must verify their identity at signup using a valid Ghana Card. The Ghana Card is permanently bound to that account and the account is non-transferable.
If you later change the phone number on file, we will re-verify the same Ghana Card. If the re-verified card doesn't match the original on file, the account is automatically suspended pending review by Komdeme staff.
4. Orders, payment and refunds
Placing an order
Orders are subject to acceptance by the restaurant. Komdeme may cancel an order at any time before fulfilment if the restaurant cannot prepare it, if the courier cannot reach the address, or if we detect fraud.
Pricing
Menu prices are set by the restaurant and shown in Ghana Cedis (GHS). Prices may include taxes (VAT 15%, NHIL 2.5%, GETFund 2.5%, and any other applicable Ghanaian statutory taxes) — your checkout summary shows the breakdown. A platform service charge and a delivery fee are added on top.
Payment
All electronic payments are processed by Paystack. We support Mobile Money (MTN, Telecel, AirtelTigo), Visa, and Mastercard. Cash on delivery may be offered at the restaurant's discretion. Komdeme never sees your full card or mobile-money credentials.
Refunds
If your order is not delivered, is delivered incorrectly, or is unfit to eat, contact Komdeme support within 24 hours. Where Komdeme determines a refund is owed it will be issued via Paystack to the original payment method within 7 working days. Cash refunds for cash-on-delivery orders are arranged directly with the restaurant.
5. Rules for vendors
- You confirm you are legally allowed to operate a food business in Ghana, including any Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) registration applicable to your premises.
- You are responsible for food safety, accuracy of your menu, and timely preparation of orders.
- You agree to a commission of 15% of order subtotal on every order Komdeme dispatches to you, unless a different rate is documented in your vendor record.
- You may upgrade to a Promotion Tier (Bronze → Ultimate) for a monthly fee in exchange for higher placement in customer search results. Tiers require a minimum positive-review threshold; falling below it for the configured grace period results in automatic demotion.
- Payouts: net of commission and refunds, settled to your registered mobile-money or bank account on a weekly cycle (every Monday for the prior week's orders).
- You must not list prohibited items (alcohol if you don't hold the relevant licence, raw / unsafe food, counterfeit goods).
- Komdeme may temporarily suspend your listing for safety incidents, repeated rider complaints, or persistent negative reviews.
6. Rules for riders
- You are an independent contractor, not an employee of Komdeme. You set your own hours and choose which orders to accept from the pool.
- You must hold a valid driver's licence (or rider's permit) for the vehicle you use. Bicycles and foot delivery do not require a licence.
- You must verify your identity at signup with a Ghana Card. You may not let another person use your rider account.
- You accept an order by tapping Accept. If you don't progress to pickup within 10 minutes, the order is automatically released back to the pool.
- At drop-off you must scan (or correctly type) the customer's verification code to mark the order delivered. This protects you against false complaints.
- Komdeme pays you the delivery fee less any platform share documented in your rider record, weekly via your registered payout method.
- You agree to behave professionally, follow traffic laws, and represent the platform respectfully.
7. Acceptable use (everyone)
You may not:
- Use Komdeme for any illegal purpose
- Impersonate another person or share account credentials
- Place fake orders, leave fake reviews, or otherwise manipulate the platform
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
- Attempt to break, scrape, or reverse-engineer the platform
- Use the platform to send spam or unsolicited messages
8. Reviews
Customers may rate and review orders after delivery. Reviews should be honest and based on the actual order. Komdeme may remove reviews that contain personal abuse, false claims, or unrelated content.
9. Disputes
If you have a dispute with another Komdeme user (e.g. a vendor about an order, a rider about a delivery), please raise it via Komdeme support first. We will attempt to mediate in good faith. Disputes that cannot be resolved this way are subject to the courts of Ghana.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by Ghanaian law, Komdeme is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Where Komdeme is found liable, total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order(s) in question in the preceding three months.
11. Suspension and termination
Komdeme may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, if we detect fraud or abuse, or if we are required to do so by law. You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@komdeme.com.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use of the platform after a change means you accept the new Terms.
